In the quiet seaside village of Haven's Edge, the arrival of a massive iceberg just off the coast was a spectacle that drew everyone's attention. The townspeople, accustomed to the occasional drift of ice from the north, gathered to observe this colossal visitor. However, as the morning light grew stronger, revealing the iceberg's true form, a collective gasp echoed among the crowd.
The stunned residents turned pale, their eyes fixed on the unbelievable sight that the iceberg had brought so close to their homes.
Everybody who had lived in this small town long enough had gotten accustomed to the occasional ice floating in their cold ocean. But nobody here had seen anything like this before. For ice to reach this place, it had to travel fairly far and the ice mostly melted on the way over here. But this was clearly not the case this time…
Either this iceberg had started out as the biggest floating iceberg in human history, or it had melted significantly less than the ice would normally do. Which both did not make too much sense. And while everything was mostly stunned by the size of the ice, there was one person who noticed something very different about this incredible natural phenomenon…
Michael had been scanning the iceberg with his very high-quality binoculars for a while now. He was fascinated by the sight. But when he let his gaze glide over the top of the ice, he was suddenly stopped when he thought he saw something very much out of the ordinary. There was clearly something moving up there!
Micheal could not get a good view of what it was exactly, but he was sure that there was something. But after observing it for a few seconds, the movement disappeared to the other side of the iceberg and Michael could not see it anymore. He was stunned, but also deadly curious as to what the hell could be on that iceberg.
Whatever or whoever it was had to have been on there for days or even weeks. The ice does not exactly travel fast in the slow drift of the ocean. What could it have survived for all that time? And why was it at the top of the iceberg? That seemed to be by far the most dangerous place on this melting piece of temporary land.
Michael was unsure of what to do next. Should he tell somebody? Michael doubted that they would even believe it. He had no proof of what he had seen and in all honesty, he was not even sure if he believed it himself. He could also just leave this for what it was and just continue with his life. If there really was something to be seen on the ice, it would reveal itself again.
But that is not how Michael’s mind worked. Anything exciting or interesting that happened in this sleeping town, he was going to jump on it. He was so bored on a daily basis and needed things to keep his mind occupied. And this movement on a large iceberg was exactly what he needed. This was going to be his adventure!
